Int. WeLoveU Foundation and Gabones Republic's agreement

A Maternal Approach to Safe Drinking Water

                                                                                 2012-04-11/ Newsweek

Int. WeLoveU Foundation and Gabones Republic agreed to take action against Global change

There is nothing more comforting than maternal tenderness. Or so argues the International WeLoveU Foundation. the South Koren welfare group whose slogan, "Mother's love to the Whole World," has become a rallying cry for helping the needy - irrespective of nationality, race, region, or means.
Just as most mothers traditionally strlve to keep a tidy house, WeLoveU believes that true welfare is possible only in a clean and safe environment. The preser-vation of clean water, flesh air, natural landscape and quality of life is essential. It says, to maintaining the world for future generations. Toward that end, the Clean World Movement was born.
Building on its impressive record of social welfare and emergency relife programs, WeLoveU has recently turned its focus to Africa, where it s trying to help villagers develope sustainable access to reliable drinking water. WeLoveU has donationed water pumps and water storage facilities to countries such as Ghana and Kenya.
In the Ghanaian village of Bremen Ko-koso, more than 3,000 residents were until reently sharing the
only two waer pumps. Many had little choice but to make do with unclean water from a local stream, washing themselves and their clothes on the side and drinking from the other. Diseases such as Gulnea worm infection wee not uncommon.
The foundation fully funded an underground water development project for Bremen Kokoso in December 2008. After two months of drilling. two more pumps were added and continue to operate today. Laer, WeLoveU installed water umps in the Ghanaian towns of Amasamen Abehenease and Asubol.
through the  New Life Walkathon, continues in severaal other African and Asian countries.
These efforts have a spotlight on WeLoveU and bestowed some recongnition on South Korea as a proponent of low-carbon, green growth.
Speaking at the recent Environmental Seminar o Green Campus in Seoul.,co- hosted by WeLoveU and the Daejayon(International Association of Unversity Students for Environmental Movement), the WeLoveU Chairwoman Zahng gil-jah, said: "We prepared the event together with Daejayon because we share the same hope to seek a solution to global environmntal problems and to realize the need for a low- carbon society."
"African countries including Gabon are faced with the problem of sustainable growth," he said.' But one thing we have to be clear about is that the growth has to be based in the protection of the environment.

On February 23, the 2nd Character Education for Youths was held in the Diamond Hall of the Hi Seoul Youth Hostel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. 150 middle and high school students living in the southern part of Seoul participated in this special lecture before school starts.
“The person who is considerate of others can become a leader who can make our future bright.”    The Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah and the instructors emphasized the importance of love and consideration for others

This day, Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah visited the place and encouraged the students, saying, “The spirit of the youth decides the future of our society and country. I hope that you will love one another and take a leading role in making school without violence and outcasts, happy society as well.”

Seoulites to step out to say ‘We Love U’ ( Int.We Love U Foundation - Chairwoman Zahng gil-jah)

Seoulites to step out to say ‘We Love U

Global foundation shows ‘mother’s love’ for climate change refugees More than 12,000 people are expected to walk through Seoul on May 13 to raise awareness of climate change refugees. The annual walkathon organized by the International We Love U Foundation will start at Olympic Park in Songpa-dong at 10 a.m.
Ambassadors and organizations including Daejayon student environmental group is also set to participate in the walk that President Lee Myung-bak and other celebrities have joined in the past.

The Korea-based International We Love U Foundation operates with the lofty goal of sharing the mother’s love of founder Zahng Gil-jah with all mankind.
Founded in 1995, the organization now has 70,000 members with 43 branches in Korea and 30 international branches across seven continents.

Its current Clean World movement aims at environmental and humanitarian goals with WORLD standing for Water, Oxygen, Region, Life, and Descendants.
“The meaning of ‘Clean World’ is to think about how to make everyone feel happy. If everything is clean all people will think it is beautiful and feel happy,” explained general manager Lee Sung-an.

“First, our hearts should be clean and then the environment should be clean, sharing love with our neighbors should also be clean.”
Lee said that the international programs including providing water pumps to Asian and African nations, planting trees to clean the air, donating blood and providing medical care were changing people’s lives and mindsets.

“We have done activities all over the world, so many people have changed their thinking to become clean. In America, originally the people were a little individualistic but after this movement they can feel love with their families.
In ASEAN, it was a little lazy, but after this movement … many governments and official offices are participating in this movement now.
In Europe, before only the government took part in environmental movements, but after Clean World movement, citizens were taking part too.”
The organization also runs many projects in Korea including visiting senior citizens living alone and assisting multicultural families.

The purpose of this foundation is to give mother’s love and make the world become one.
The U.N. is helping (political) refugees but no one helped the climate refugees so they are in need of our support. It is possible that in future all nations can have climate refugees so this is a very important subject.”
The ambassadors of Gabon and Ghana have confirmed they will join the event, and organizers are expecting the attendance of some government ministers.

In cold winter when people more shrink back in mind due to the economic downturn, those who have warm hearts perform a miracle by making a united effort. An event was held to look after our neighbors and to close the year 2011 beautifully at the Suwon Gymnasium on December 19.

Foreign embassies in Korea highly appreciated the international activities of the WeLoveU Foundation for helping foreign countries suffering from water shortage, and wished the foundation to continue to help the world suffering from many disasters. Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Mun-su sent a congratulatory video message encouraging the members.

Medical and living expenses were delivered with gifts to 40 families―low-income families and multicultural families including children with rare disease. While Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah and Sponsor Chairman Lee Sun-jae were warmly encouraging the families who had hard times and delivering hopeful messages along with medical and living expenses to them, the WeLoveU members gave a big applause with love. The donations are supposed to be used to support children in Nepal and Cambodia, too.
